Will it Float? Or Will it Sink?

One World (Leasing Co-Op) is down to five core members, but about to

add a professional executive director, president.  The group decided they

were going in too many directions and their problem was a “lack of leadership.”

The committee decided they needed a “chairperson.”

Louis Schneider, former partner of Preferred Capital, is  into his second year of

law school, apparently in New England “ ...and apparently loves it.  He is in semi-hiding while attending school so nobody knows which school he’s attending. He is enjoying his time away from leasing.”

--

We’re looking for Mr. Schneider former partner, David Murray.  We are told

the last company he was working for may be in a lot of trouble with the

California Attorney General, among others.  Trying to not only trace

him down, but see if he will make a comment about why he left.

Look for a major leasing company to start a “broker division.” Going

against the tide, they are about to hire a top person to run it.  We hope

to be the first to make the announcement.

“When you described me as "urbane" at times when saying I would cover the

NAELB show, I thought I had a new disease. After looking up urbane in

the dictionary, I think you have the wrong person. It should be a good

meeting and I'll send you the report sometime on Sunday before you go to

press for Monday. Take care, Charlie”

Charlie Lester CLester@LPIFinancial.com

(Charlie will be covering the National Association of Equipment Leasing

Brokers conference.  I hope the president, board, and other members will

be courteous to this “Southern Gentleman.”  (  “Urbane is evidently not

for him:

urbane

adj 1: showing a high degree of refinement and the assurance that comes from wide social experience; "his polished manner"; "maintained an urbane tone in his letters" [syn: polished, refined, svelte] 2: characterized by tact and propriety 3: marked by wide-ranging knowledge and appreciation of many parts of the world arising from urban life and wide travel; "the sophisticated manners of a true cosmopolite"; "urbane and pliant...he was at ease even in the drawing rooms of Paris" [syn: sophisticated]

(You might be able to “walk-in” to the conference,  but if anyone gives you trouble, ask for Bob Bell---He is a good friend of mine and I know he will accommodate you.

Kit Menkin.)
